BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

COMMUNIO EDMUND RICE AND P.A.L.S.

The social actions group of Presentation College Chaguanas shall be responsible for any acts of mercy and works of social justice. Communio Edmund Rice and P.A.L.S. provide opportunities for young men to come together in friendship to explore prayer, to develop a real connection with God and to work on social justice projects. This group take inspiration from the example of the prophet Micah who says that we should “act justly, love tenderly, and walk humbly with our God." (Micah 6:8)

STUDENT COUNCIL

The Student Council of Presentation College Chaguanas shall be the formal voice of the student body of Presentation College Chaguanas and, as such, is essential to the governance of the aforementioned school. The aims of the Council are to provide student government for the entire student body, develop attitudes and practice the qualities of good citizenship, promote harmonious relationships throughout the school, provide a forum for student expression, act as a link and agent of communication between the administration and the student body, and develop a feeling of respect and loyalty in the school.

COLLEGE PREFECTS

The Prefect Body is a team of appointed students (Form 6) who are committed to fostering leadership, direction and spirit in the student body while maintaining a positive environment. They function as an active voice representing the student body and serving as a bridge between students and administration.

PEER COUNSELLORS

Peer counselling is the use of active listening and problem-solving skills to counsel students who are their peers. These are form 6 students who have acquired a basic training in peer counselling. They will discuss what is happening in the lives of students and provide opportunities for them to explore their feelings on the matter and help them to find solutions to any problem or difficulty.

ROMAS

A non-profit organisation formed by students of Presentation College Chaguanas, Trinidad for helping the children in hospitals nationwide
